Abstract
liiis Study was conducted on 27 patients of B—ihalassaemia and ii has mci tided 25 families of these pat ien s and I 5 healt liy cii Idren and hey been divided into the following groups:
First group: included 27 children of 13Ihalassaemia that has been nosed. ‘[heir ages ranged between 7 months and 13 years, 15 were 12 were females.
Second group: it included 39 persons 34 were parents an(l 5 siblings.
3rd group: It included I 5 nonnal children their ages tanged between
nonths and I 3 years.

clinical history & complete clinical examination.
aematological examination i.e. complete blood picture.
emoglobin elecirophotesis.
biophysical studies for hemoglobin including.

work concluded that:
The absorption hand that appears at 340 rim and express the
te—globin interact ion in homozygotes as well as heterozygotes is lowered
compared to control and this decrease is more in hoinozygotes
