Abstract The present work is a study of the effect of auto logous haemolysate on blood coagulation. The changes indu- ced by whole haemolysate, red cell stroma and supernatent solution on blood coagulability was investigated both in vivo & in vitro. The effect of 6% dextran 70 on these chan- ges was also studied. The WBCT showed a significant shortening after both haemolysate and red cell stroma infusion, the recaicification time m vitro was significantly lowered afer addition of whole haemolysate or red cell stroma at any concentration. On the contrary Infusion of supernatent solution ID vivo or its addition in vitro could only produce minor changes of WBCT or recaicification time. Similarly, the prothronbin time was significantly shor tened after infusion or addition of both whole haemolysate or red cell stroma . The effect of supernatent on prothrombin time was only little. These results thus provide evidence of the clot promoting activity of red cell haemolysate, partic- ularly the stroma. The slight decrease of WBCT,PT and recal- cification time after infusion or addition of supernatent |
