Abstract
Many authors have studied the effect of general ithesia on the M.E during nitrous oxide inhalation ithesia. They found that the M.E pressure was subjected Stisequetive rise and fall.
’This work was Intended to demonstrate and el’ucidate the t of general anaesthesia on the function of the M.E.
It bin in sixteen patients undergoing operation away from iar,nose and throat operations.
The patients were subdivided into three groups according fce type of anaesthesia each group was divided into two oups according to the time of operation. Tympanogram was pre operatively, intra operatively, half an hour and one post operatively.
fThe results of this work proved that general inhalat ion ithesia has a definite effects on the function of the M.E tanging the M.E pressure. The function of the M.E may be H:ed by the direct effect of anaesthetic agents and the ks of anaesthetic circumstances on the eustachian tube.
So there is increase in the ME pressure during nitrous i inhalation anaesthesia with subsequent.
