Abstract Six hundred urine samples were collected from Al-Kasr Al-Aini hospital , 50 samples were from catheterized patterns for at least 72 hours and 50 samples were from non-catheterized patients were studied for isolation and identification of the causative pathogens There were statistically significant difference between catheterized and non – catheterized patients as regarding positive results of cultures Regarding the organisms isolated . from catheterized patients: E.cp;I was the most common(35%) , followed by Klebsiella(13.6%) , Candida species (13%) . Pseudomonas aeruginosa(12.5%) , staph species (9.3%), enterococci (8.2%) , proteus(7.4%) and Citrobacter Regarding the organisms isolated, from non- catheterized patients: E.Coli was (50%) followed by Enterococci (14%) , pesudomopnas , Aerugiosa(12%) , Proteus (8%) , Klebsiella (6%) , staph(5%), Enterobacter(4%) and candida(1%) There was statistically significant difference between catheterized and non- catheterized regarding the following organisms:[E.coli, Klebsilla and Enterobacter and Candida] |
