Abstract

The Liver is the most important organs involved in the metabolism and storage of nutrients . It also the largest solid organ in the body and normally weighs between1.2 and 1.8 Kg .
Spices played an important role in shaping human history in ancient times , and were valued for many non food purposes , as ingredients of incense perfumes cosmetics preservatives an medicines . After the first century A.D . Spices were increasingly utilized to improve the bland qualities of many foods.
The present study was designed to clear out the effect of some spices ”Black pepper, white pepper” on the healthy status of liver.
A Total of forty two (42) spargue – Dawley white male albino rats , weighed (110 ± 10 g) were used in the current study .
All rats , were fed standard diets for four(4) consecutive days. Then , rats were divided into seven (7) groups each with similar total body weight and consists of 6 rats . the experimental were fed the basic diet .The first group was control . The other six groups supplemented with white pepper and black pepper for 28 days.
