In Egypt, pest control is necessary or adequate production of food to meet the increasing needs of our ever-growing population. Pesticides may be used effective and at the same time cause no visible injury to the plant on which they used.

This work was carried out to study:

1-The behavior and persistence of two insecticides widely used in Egypt namely profenofos and fenitrothion to control many economic pests on vegetable crops. In this study cucumber fruits were planted under greenhouse conditions at recommended rate (144 and 187 5 grams active ingredient per 100 liters of water, respectively.) Fruit samples were taken at different periods after treatments representing each treatment, beside some of fruits were washed after taken one hour and one day after treatment to study the following points:

1- Evaluation of extraction, clean up and determination processes for tested insecticides and the estimation of the percentage of recovery on cucumber fruits.

2- The behavior and persistence of tested insecticides residues on and in cucumber fruits.
