Abstract

Early recognition of ischemia and early intervention to gain the best results.Fasciotomy when indicated should be done early and adequate. » Immobilization of the associated fracture should be considered. Frequent observation in the postoperative period is mandatory The results of embolic ischemia are better than those of thrombotic ischemia. Associated cardiac and pulmonary diseases should be properly evaluated. Acute upper limb ischemia must be treated early during the first six hours.
