Abstract The thesis is divided into four main chapters 1- Introduction a- A literature survey on hydrazone ligands and their complexes with transition elements. II. Experimental a- The method used for the preparation of hydrazide, preparation of ligand (3, 4, 9, 10 - tetraphenyl - 7, 12 - dioxo - 1, 2, 5, 6 tetraza cyclododeca r- 2, 4, 8, 10 tetraene - 8, 11 dicarbonitrile) and its complexes with transition elements were described.¬ - b- The techniques for the analytical, spectral, electron spin resonance, thermal and magnetic measurements were also discussed. III- Results and Discussion III-I. The ligand, copper (11), nickel (11), Cobalt (II) manganese (II), chromium (III), and iron (III) complexes of 3, 4, 9, 10 tetraphenyl - 7, 12 - dioxo - I, 2, 5, 6 tetraza - cyclododeca - 2, 4, 8, 10 tetraene - 8, 11 dicarbonitrile have been analytically, spectrally and physically characterized.¬ III-2. The zinc (11) and cadmium (II) complexes of 3, 4, 9, 10 tetraphenyl - 7, 12 - - dioxo - 1, 2, 5, 6 tetraza - cyclododeca- 2, 4, 8, 10 tetraene - 8, 11 dicarbonitrile have been analytically, spectrally and physically characterized.¬ |
