Abstract
Liver cirrhosis is a diffuse liver disease resulting from
degeneration of liver cells followed by fibrosis and formation of
regeneration nodules leading to irreversible loss of normal
hepatic architecture.
Metalloproteinase 2 is a member of a family called
endopeptidases involved in degrading extra cellular matrix
especially type four collagen and is used in evaluating degree of
liver fibrosis and cirrhosis
