Abstract Cardiovascular complications are one of most important causes of morbidity and morbidity in children with chronic renal failure. This study was conducted on 60 children with chronic renal failure (39 male and 21 female) there age ranged from 1 year, and 16 years (mean 7.5?4.14) they were subdivided into 30 hypertensive under antihypertensive treatment and 30 normotensive. All attending the Dialysis Unit of Pediatric Hospital, Ain Shams University. They were compared to 30 children age and sex matched healthy children studied as controls. All children were subjected to thorough clinical examination laying stress on cardiovascular and anthropometric examination and laboratory work up including CBC, kidney function, lipid profile and quantitative estimation of CRP (by latex agglutination and highly sensitive detection by ELISA) also patients subjected to X-ray chest and heart, ECG and echocardiography to assess the structural and functional abnormalities |
