Abstract Mandibular angle is a common site for fractures because it is a favorable site for blows in violence. In addition, the angle is considered as a week area in the lower jaw because of the following unique properties: - Its thinner cross-section in comparison with other sites. - It is a site for stress concentrations due to its curvature. - The presence of unerupted third molar increases its weakness. In many centers, the use of single 2.0mm noncompression mmiplate via transoral approach to fix the angle is the standard treatment for mandlbular angle fractures, which proofed its efficiency and its ease in application. The present study was carried out to compare the effectiveness of 2.0mm titanium locking plate/screw system for (ORIF) of non comminuted mandibular angle fractures, against conventional 2.0mm titanium miniplates. |
