Abstract The Two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae (Koch) Acarina; Tetramychidae) is one of the most important pests attacking economic crops in Egypt: It attacks many kinds of crops, vegetables and fruit trees. Among the biotic factors influencing the degree of infestation of a certain pest is the population densities of the natural enemies associated with it in nature. The present study deals with the following aspects: 1. Study on the morphology of the immature stages, biology and life history of S. gilvifrons. 2. Feeding capacity of S. gilvifrons. The results obtained and the information envolved are hoped to be useful to verify integrated control programmes against the two-spotted spider mite T. urticae in Egypt. |
