Abstract
Diabetes mellitus Type Idiabetes mellitus This study included 50 children with unilateral inguinal hernia. They were 46 males (92%) and 4 females (8%). Their age ranged from 2 to 120 months, with a mean of 40±5.0 months. The highest incidence was between 24 months and 48 months (38%). vx • Thirty three patients (66%) in this study had right sided CIH while 17 patients (34%) had left sided one. Patients were subjected to full history taking, complete general and local examinations and routine laboratory investigations. Abdominal and pelvic U/S was done to diagnose undescended testicle if present. Forty five patients (90%), presented with intermittent swelling-in the groin, and 5 patients (10%) had a constant groin swelling. Three patients (6%) had associated umbilical hernia, 1 patient (2%) had undescended testicle, 3 patients (6%) had hydrocele, and 2 patients (4%) had limb anomalies.
