Abstract
Babesiosis is a disease produced by proloxoan parasites oi genus tiabesia which naturally inlect mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians through tick bites. Bovine babesiosis is a prevalent disease in Kgypt and it is produced by many spieces, one of them is Babesia bigemina
I luman babesiosis is a xoonosis, clinically similar to malaria and it is transmitted mainly by tick bites or blood transfusion. The
parasite is contused with Phistnodium spp. on examination of stained
peripheral blood smears.
The disease can altcct both immunocompetent and. immunocompromised persons causing illness varying trom
asymptomatic or self limiting flu-like disease in patients with intact
immunity to severe tatal disease in irnmunoi»mpromiscd elderly

This work was designed lor detection ot Babesia bigemina in cattle by blood films stained by dillerent stains (Giemsa stain ,Wright stain and Acndine Orange tluorescent stain).
