Abstract This investigation aimed to evaluate the performance of four sudan grass varieties (in vivo) for salt tolerance of irrigation water under different nitrogen fertilizer and biofertilizer treatments to estimate growth traits, forage yield and chemical components to improve sudan grass productivity under salinity stress conditions at Ras Sudr region. Meantime, to study the early testing for salt tolerance (in vitro) through tissue culture techniques. This study was carried out at Ras Sudr Agricultural Experiment Station of Desert Research Center at South Sinai during 2001 and 2002 seasons. Sowing date was on May 5th in the two seasons. |
