Abstract

DSE is used to detect regional myocardial viability by utilizing a LDDE that provokes improved LV wall thickening in regions presenting with LV dyssynergy at rest. At high dose it could detect myocardial ischemia. It predicts recovery of LV function after coronary revascularization.TDI potentially allows improved visual assessment of regional wall motion and provides the capacity for quantification of velocity during myocardial contraction .It could detect myocardial viability and myocardial ischemia more readily than the conventional methods .The aim of this work was evaluation of myocardial viability in patients who had CAD and were subjected to DSE before and after CABG, the resulting data were analyzed by using 2D .and TDI. This study included 15 patients with CAD, and 15 normal subjects were used as a control. All patients were subjected to : clinical evaluation, standard 12 lead ECG, DSE and coronary angiography. DSE was done before and one month after bypass surgery. Analysis of DSE were done using both the conventional 2D and tissue doppler imaging .
