Abstract Systemic lupus erythematosus is a multisystem disease with diverse clinical manifestations. It is characterized by the presence of antinuclear antibodies. Lupus nephritis is both a frequent and potentially serious complication of SLE. Serious kidney disease may influence morbidity and mortality both directly and indirectly through complications of therapy. Chromatin is made up of polynucleosomes. Nucleosomes are the repeating unit of histone and DNA. Evidence is to date accumulating to suggest that the nucleosome plays a key role in the pathogenesis of SLE. |
