Abstract The present study was designated to evaluate and compare clinically, radiographically and histologically the regenerative potential of Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and Fibrin-Fibronectin Sealing System (FFSS) both modulated with Platelet-poor plasma (PPP) as autogenous guided tissue regenerated membrane in the management of class III furcation defects. A total number of 14 systemically healthy patients with class III furcation defects of the first and/or second mandibular molars were selected for the study. Prior to surgery, patients were subjected to a comprehensive oral-hygiene programme, full mouth supra and subgingival scaling and root [ planning. In addition to laboratory investigations in form of complete-blood picture. The through and through furcation defects chosen with specific criteria for the study were divided randomely into two groups. Group I: Comprised 7 furcation defects which been treated by the application of PRP and PPP as an autogenous membrane. Group II: Comprised 7 furcation defects which been treated by the application of FFSS and PPP as an autogenous membrane. The following clinical parameters were recorded at base-line, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months post-surgically: Plaque index, Papillary bleeding index, Probing pocket depth and Clinical attachment level. |
