Methods of contraception or family planning depend

planning programs themselves (Johnson and Weinberger,
1980- Morris et al., 1981).
In developed countries,two decades of research. suggest
tha,t intrauterine contracapti ve devices (IUDs 1 are
most suitable as contraceptive method, especially in
older multiparous ,,”,omen wheri;! its, effectiveness, is
greatest and the in,cidence of complications is lowel>t
(Brown, 1976- Sivin and Tatum, 19811. The most recent
tlSA survey of contraceptive e ffecti veneSs among married
\o1orneo showed a pregnancy rate o’f 4 8 .per hundred IUD
users in the first year, compared to a pregnancy rate
of 2.5 per hundred users of oral <:lonlraceptives (Grady
