Abstract
This essay, deals with intraocular foreign bodies. The study
of intraocular foreign bodies includes their different types, incidence
, site of impaction ,and effect on the eye.
The different methods of diagnosis and localization as the
clinical examination , roentgenography , ultrsonography and chemical
analysis are very important and valuable methods which help in the
sucessful removal of intraocular foreign bodies.
The extraction of foreign body depends upon consideration of
the severity of the penetrating injury ss well as the composition of
the foreign body , its size and site of impaction. The extent of
associated ocular injury ~ust be known and treated as effectively as
possible.
