No doubt that creative thinking is one of the most important types of thinking in Architectural field, it enables the Architect to innovates many ideas for any problem in his project. as the process of the modern Architectural design is very complex and needs many specialists, the creative thinking is most suitable to organize between those specialists in the frame work of Architectural design process.
the problem of this work is the absence of a regular in Architectural thinking that enables us to understand the creative thinking and the evaluation of creativity in the Architectural product.
However, the research aims to suggest a method enables the Architect to create creative ideas and permit him to evaluate the innovation in his Architectural products.
To achieve this aim the analytical and theoretical methodologies are utilized, the work consists of three chapters:
The first chapter has the title ”General Concepts and Theoretical approach”. In this chapter a literature review has been carried out to provide the meanings of the basic terms of creative thinking process: its general concepts, methods of creative thinking training, and creative thinking hinders.
The second chapter has the title of ”The Architectural Creation in Thinking and Buildings of the Masters of Architecture”. This chapter aims to find the relation between the creative thinking and its output (the creative results). and the suitability of such thinking (creative thinking) for the Architecture creativity. Forms of creation that had been identified in the first chapter have been applied over the works and thoughts the Architecture’s masters of the twentieth century.
The third chapter is entitled ”Concepts of Creative Thinking in Architectural Design Process”. This chapter aims to comprehensive and deep understanding of the phenomenon of creative thinking in Architectural design and testing the correlation between this type of thinking and the general creative thinking, this chapter searches about fields that may consist points of Architectural creative thinking.
Finally, this work has concluded some results and recommendations which aim at establishing the procedures to improve creative thinking in Architectural design process.
