Abstract

Dynamic analytical models have been developed for the transient analysis of slip eing induction motor operating with symmetrical windings or asymmetrical stator and/or rotor winding connections using the phase variables method and the coupled circuit model of a three-phase induction motor. The three-phase rotor circuit is transformed into two-winding with the aid of component. The numerical solution used for solving the differential equations is the Runge Kutta-Verner method. A computer program as used performing the calculations. The analysis is done for linear loading operations.
The dynamic behaviours of the three-phade induction motor starting and running under different operating conditions, which are investigated as following:
(i) The induction motor is started under balanced stator and rotor windings.
(ii) The induction motor is started with unequal stator resistances.
(iii) Starting of the 3-phase induction motor with single phase supply.
(iv) Open circuited stator phase during run up operation.
(v) The induction motor is started with unequal rotor resistances.
(vi) The induction motor is started with single phase rotor.
(vii) The induction motor is started with unequal.
