Abstract

The present study was carried out at the Department of Poultry Production, Kafr EL- Sheikh Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta llniversity from 20121 1999 to 20161 1999. The present study aimed to. 1)Evaluate mung bean seed as a new and untraditional feedstuff by using chemical and biological methods. 2)Study the influence of incorporation of mung bean seed at different levels in qaidli ets on growth and laying . perforinance. Experiment I: Chemical composition : Mung bean seed was analyzed for protein, amino acid and - minerals contents. Biological evaluation A number of 48 males l’rom .lapanese q~~aiwl ere distributed at random into two groups in three replicates. The two groups were l’asted for 24 hr to empty their digestive tract, then the first group was only id ground mung bean seed for 24 hr . The excreta were collected quantitatively and the feed intake was measured . Samples of feed and excreta were assayed for gross energy, nitrogen and essential amino acids
