Abstract

Cottonseed variety (Giza 45 ) was as a raw material of the present study. Two tons of fuzzy (undelinted ) cottonseed was secured out from the 2002 yield and was obtained from the Central Seed Bureau Ginning Mill, Ministry of Agriculture. Seed moisture content was 11 % in the range of safe storage. The cottonseed sacks were stored under room temperature in open air until the experimental studies were completed. The experiments were carried out at Rice Mechanization Center, Meet El-Deeba, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, Egypt during summer season of 2003. The investigated cottonseed delinting machine in the present research was established based on the thermal treatment using a direct flame to heat the air before inter the dryer unit. Acid-cottonseed delinted machine was manufactured and tested to produce delinted cottonseed by using thermal affect. The function of the delinting cottonseed machine was finished successfully the delinting of cottonseed fuzz using sulfuric acid and thermal technique. This machine consists of the following: 1- Dryer, exhaust fans and electrical motors. 2- Burn flame chamber. 3- Seed hopper and mechanical feeder. 4- Gas fuel source, connections and control system. Structure frame to support the different units.
