Abstract

Rice is considered one of the most important crops in Egypt. It has a great effect on liulnan food and also considered the backbone of international income. S ,. The cultivated rice area in Egypt is reached about 1,400,000 feddani +> yearly. The total yield is about 4,820,000 Mg of rough rice per year. At kafr El-sheikh Governorate the total cultivated area is about 277,000 feddans per year and the average yield 3.5 1 Mg/feddan*. Rice considered as one of the most important food and exported crops. In Egypt, the manual transplanting is the conventio~iaml ethod for rice cultivation, however it becomes very expensive method from the point of view of the labours shortage. So that, it is needed to look for another economical method for rice practice planting by using the mechanical methods such as drilling which require less number of labour, saving in labour maybe substantially reduce production cost particularly in areas where labour cost is high. The present study consistes of both laboratory and field experiments. 6.1 : Laboratory experiments: One unit seed drili was constructed from materials locally available to run the set of the laboratory experiments. The laboratory set of experiments was carried out to evaluate the electronic control system on construct grain drill unit. The main parts of the laboratory grain drill unit are as follows: a) Frame made fi-om iron angles. b) Feeder device assembly. c) Hopper is made fiom galvanized steel sheet. d) Smear belt. e) Transmission system. f) Electrical motors g) Electronic control system unit.
