Abstract
The present investigation was conducted at the Experimental Station, Faculty of, Agriculture, Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta University, during the two successive winter seasons of 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, to study the effect of different levels of nitrogen fertilizer (30, 60 and 90 kg N/fed.), manual hand weeding and two selective herbicides (Brominal and Suffex) on growth, yield and quality of two wheat cultivars (Sakha 8 and Giza 163). The two herbicides were sprayed at 35 and 40 days for Brominal and Suffex respectively. The experimental design was split-split-plot with four replicates in which the varieties were arranged at random in the main-plots, whereas the nitrogen levels arranged in the sub-plots, and the methods of weed control occupied the sub-sub-plots in both seasons. Grains of wheat cultivars were planted on November 28th and 29th of 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, respectively. The results obtained during the two seasons are summarized.
