Abstract
Rice, Oryza sative L. is one of the most important cereal crops in Egypt. Rice plants are mainly attacked by rice leaf miner, Hydrellia prostemalzs Deeming and rice stem borer, Chilo Agamemnon Bleszynski. So, ths study was carried out during three successive seasons, 1994, 1995 and 1996 at the experimental farm of Rice Research & Training Center (RRTC), Sakha and in Department of Economic Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Kaf? El-Shekh, Tanta University to study: (I) seasonal abundance of both insects, (2) damage of rice leaf miner as influenced by certain cultural practices, (3) relative susceptibility of some rice entries to both insects, and (4) some biological aspects of rice leaf miner.
