Abstract It is possible to determine an approximate value for the amount of an ore deposit by an economical method. This method is simple and depends on Gauss’ theory. In this method, gravity data are treated to draw a residual map. The density of both the ore and overburden is also determined. Applying Gauss’ theory and taking the density of the ore in the range between 2.18-2.33 gm/cm3 and the density of the overburden as 1.88 gm/cm3, the average value of the reserves for the regions (A), (B), (C), (D), (1), (2) and (3) was found to equal 137.1533×106 metric tons. It was also possible to determine the depth of ore by assuming an engineering from for the ore. The application of this method in this present study gives an average value of ore depth ranging between 16.55m and 37.55m. |
