Abstract
althoug the incidence of colon cancer increases with advancing age reasons for this increase are not fully undrestood. So, we have examined the age - related changes in proliferation and apoptosis in colonic mucosa of the 4- and 24-mounth - old albino rats, assessed by PNC Aimmunoreactiviy for prolferaion and L/M , Caspase, -3and bak for apoptosis PCNA immunoreactiviy was higher in old rats than in youg rats. These changes were accompanied by reducton in the nuber of goblet cells and increased collagen assessed by Hx & E and masson’s trichrome staining techniques.
