Abstract The liver is a fertile field for radiological investigations because of its homogeneous parenchymal texture, dual blood supply, and varied physiological and biochemical hnctions. The high incidence of focal liver lesions makes the early detection and characterization of these lesions is essential.The aim of this study was to assess the role of spiral CT imaging in the diagnosis of focal hepatic diseases. An initial review of the anatomy of the liver, physical principles of spiral CT, modes of CT examination of the liver,pathology and CT appearances of hepatic focal lesions was thoroughly evaluated. |
