Abstract ADHD is a cominon psychiatric disorder in children and adolescents. Usually appears before the age of seven years. It is characterized by inattentiveness, overactivity, and impulsivity. It is more cominon in boys than girls. Many factors are implicated in the etiology of ADHD as genetic, environmental, psychological, and others. There is no single hypothesis has the acceptance as a cause for all the cases.Catecholamines (dopamine and norepinephrine) and serotonin were implicated as one of the etiological factors that may explain the cause of ADHD.The aim of this research is to study the possible role of’ dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin in ADHD. Also, to focus the attention on children with ADHD giving thein the chance for diagnosis and treatment. |
