المستخلص In this study the researcher has dealt with a comparative study of the social Acceptance for the Deaf adolescents, the Hard hearing, and the Hearing. The handicaped represent a large number in any society, Naturally each group needs special educational and psychological requirements which differ from these of normal children, from one aspect and according o to type of handicape from the other aspect- There is no doubt that the social enviromnent in which the deaf, or the’ hard of hearing live plays an important role in facilitating or complicating his ability to deal with the difficulties resulted from being handicaped. If the society the whole one or the small family accepts the handicaped person as being a one of abilities and attitudes by which he can play an effective role in the society, this has a good reflection positively on him, he accepts himself, his society, tries to be positive and effective, on the” contrary, if the society considers him as an unable person, this has a negative effect on him, he hates himself and his society with feelings of inferiority, he withdraws, and returns to behave against the society asa o social person. By introducing the previous studies being available, the researcher can say that the hearing handicaped persons have many problems in comparison with their peers, such as difficulties in communication, feelings of .loneliness, .frustration,1Iesides they suffer from emotional disturbances, . and are more aggressive. ._~--------~--------_/ -2- ----- <- ” Some studies assert that fathers’ attitude towards their handicaped children have a big effect on their psychological adjustement more than the teachers, and that there is a positive relation between self acceptance and the effectiveness and communication with the families that support their children to communicate socially. As a result, the researcher studies the social acceptance of the deaf adolescents, the hard of hearing and the honnals because no one can live with out social acceptance, and this is the motive to accomplish this study. Terms of study: 1- Social Acceptance : Is one’s feeling of being loved and accepted by his family, his peers, and his teachers, and so accepted by himself in a way that achieve social and personal adjustment. 2- The Deaf: Are those who lose their hearing ability since being born or before being abile to speak. 3- Hard of Hearing : Are those who suffer partilly from hard of hearing in a degree prevents them from their social and educational goals exceptly _using special aids. 4- .The Normal Hearing: Are those who have normal hearing ability, so they can achieve their social and educational needs without using any special aids. Sample of the Study: Consists of (180) students between (12-16) years, divided into three groups: 1- The deaf: (30 males - 30 females). -- .” -3- 2- The hard of hearing : (30 males - 30 females). 3- The normals ”hearing” : (30 males - 30 females). Tools of the study: 1- The social acceptance scale (by the researcher) 2- Picture intellegence test: (by: Ahmed Zaki Saleh, 1974). 3- The social, and Economical level list (by .Abd Elazeez Elshakhs, 1987). H);potheses of the Study: 1_ There are statistical differences between the means of the degrees of the normals, and the deaf (males and females) in the total degree of social acceptance for the side of the normals. 2- There are statistical differences between the means of the degrees of the normals and the hard of hearing (males and females) in the total degree .of social acceptance for the side of the-normals. 3- There are statistical differences between the means of the degrees of the Deaf and the hard of hearing (males and females) in the total degree of .social acceptance for the side of the Deaf. 4- There are no statistical differences between the means of the degrees (males and females) never the less being impaired in the total degree of the social acceptance. S- There is a statistical relation between being impaired and the sex in affecting the means of the degrees of social acceptance for the six groups of the study. Statistical styles: 1- Analysis of varience. 2- Tuky test. 3- (T) test. - ~~--- -- --------------_./ -4- Limitations of the Study: This study and its results were defined by procedural definitions, the sample, tools. and statistical styles, which were used in this study. Results of the Study : This study indicated that the first. second, and the fifth hypotheses have been supported, whereas the third and the fourth hypotheses hadn’t supported and the results of this study were discussed in the light of theoretical fromework and previous studies. |
