THE SUMMARY OF THE STUDY
Technology is viewed as a decisive factor in the determination of the modern society forming. Therefore, the success of the Egyptian society modernization depends on its ability to take the modern technological changes in together with what it imposes from values and behaviours. This success also depends on the ability of the society to prepare itself according to the challenges these changes impose to reorganize the construction of the society. This is because technology does not only mean a modern way or means but it means some sort of change in the human relationships, the beliefs, the traditions and the
principles of the society.
It is noticed that the change that occurred in the Egyptian society was accompanied with changes in all systems that compose the social construction. These changes occurred in the function of these systems and in the social roles of the individuals involved in these systems, again in the criteria that decide the social behaviours. Hence, the change in the individuals’ ideas and social behaviour. This created a gap in the values embodied in the change of civilization which was not accompanied by a new vision of new values that confirm the
psychological balance of man.
Thus, the society became not well prepared to make use of the modern technological ways or the maintainance of sets or the application of the invented systems. This is to say that the Egyptian society while progresses speedily in materialistic aspects without parallel change in non-materialistic aspects because ways of thinking, values and traditions, are still the same in spite of the rapid change in materialistic civilization.
Hence, the part of education that is considered one of the most important social systems for the technological society. It contributes preparing individuals valid for benefitting from modern sciences, its outputs and its applications and who are able to think well in a scientific way in all the fields and who have tenderness and scientific skills. Education plays an important role in providing with the chances for facing the technological change and what it implies of discoveries and creative abilities innovations. It is also considered the basic foundations for the rapid social growth through the help of individuals in accepting the process of successive technological changes in our contemporary world. In this field, the technical education plays an important role in preparing the human capital for the different professions. But the change in the production means imposes a change in the preparation of human capital to accommodate the means of preparation with the new means of production. This rests
on two ways.
Firstly, the scientific background should be available before hand that is necessary for developing the society through introducing the bases of sietific knowledge. Secondly, the generation of the social human values should be there this development to serve the society. This aims at releasing a distinguished step forward for the means of production and ways of performance in the society to deliver this step to all of the sectors of the Egyptian society. This is to realize an actual change in behaviours, concepts and social values related to industry, technology and science. The problem of the study:
This study aims at answering the following main question:
What is the role of the technical industrial school, of five years system in acquiring their students the values of the technological change in the modern Egyptian society?
This question may be divided into the following subquestions:
1.What is the effect of the technological changes on the present Egyptian society?
2.What are the most necessary values that cope with the technological change in the present Egyptian society?
3.Are there any significant differences in the values of the technological change among first and fifth year technical industrial schools’ students ?
4. Are there any significant differences in the values of the technological change among students of the fifth year of different specialization ? The Eroals of the study :
This study aims at:
1. Recognizing the role of the technical industrial school of five years
system in acquiring their students the values of the technological change in the present Egyptian Society.
2. Stating the most important values that cope with these changes.
3. Defining the factors that decrease effectiveness of the ability of the technical industrial school in achieving its expected roles. Procedures of the study:
1.Analysing the process of the technological change in the present Egyptian society.
2.Preparing a design of these values to cope with these changes.
3.Submitting this design to a jury in the field of the technical industrial education.
4.Preparing a questionnaire of the values that could be applied to measure these values.
5 The results of the study
1.The technological changes in the present Egyptian society require the technical industrial school to help their students to acquire values of the technical change.
2.The role of the industrial technical school of the five year system is a limited role, that it does not include all the values of the technological change.
3.The role of the technical industrial school is a limited unbalanced role as it is confined to some specializations not all of them. This means that the effectiveness of the technical industrial school in giving its students the values of the technological change is limited and unbalanced.
