If administration is generally affected by the conditions br involving society and its events, the direction of an br educational establishment would do better to protect itself br against such events and crises. So it is time for educational br establishment direction to move towards a state of full br conformity with the prevalent ecnomic, social, political, moral br and philosophical conditions. br A school administration, In -#111;-#114;-#100;-#101;-#114; to perform his duties br successfully, should be able to with whatever everyday matters br that may accmulate in the scholl day after day . br Hence the main task of school administration IS to br mobilize all energies and efforts that help raise pupils and br educate them, with the ultimate aim of their achieving br complete maturity and being useful to themselves and to their br society . In addition to that, one of the rales school br administration to try to increase the expertise of all rnembers br of the school for the sake of the com.mon good . br In face of all the dangers of natual calamities (such as br floods, earthquakes, rains, volcanoes, desertification. and so br forth) that threaten the life and possessions of man as well as br his environment, there should be a.puposeful creative activity br undertaken by Societvto understand the natureof these dangers br and to detrmine whatever measures are to be taken to the br invitability of a crisis requires a higher degree of awareness, br thinking and adminstration on our part so as be able to control br the crsis, deal with its dangers and even to make use of its br poitive side . br Thus dealing with a CrISIS in -#111;-#114;-#100;-#101;-#114; to be effective in br treating its earliest symptoms and stopping themor preventing br ) br \ br ._-~------, br ____ .~_._..-.-~ ._ ~_. __ • __ ’ ,c br 3 br the exacerbation of the situation, has to be based on scientific, br ratioalistic and experienced foul - ndations . This is the core of br the educational process undertaken by the school nowadays . br Problem of the study br The Egyption society suffers -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; certain crses such as br the lack of constructional planning, a crisis that has br surfacedand lasted for more then 20 years . There are also the br following crises Overpopulation, Unemployment, br environmental pollution, and many other crises. It seems as of br any on of these crises does not vanish until it triggers off on br vel’ worse set of subsquent crises . br Here Comes the role of the school. How to embrace its br pupils and make them fully aware of their surroundings? How br to make them cope with the conditions and circumstaces of br their socitey and liveoutside the classroom? The October br earthquake of 1992 revealed to us a great deal of misbehaviour br and lack of discipline which lead to the death of many students br . However, there have not been but usless skimpy unstution br represented in meetings that were concluded at higher levels br such as directorates and directionsand • When they reached br shools, they were reduced to mere simple words of which the br students thernseles were already oware during the catastrophe . br This resulted in a missing vitallink in the chain of instrction . br Theerefore : br The problem of the study can be stated in the following br main question : br What is the role of school administrlltion in br developing awarness among .second stage br Basic Education pnpils, in facing catastrophes br and crises? br .__ .. __ ... .. --J) br 4 br -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; this main question. there are sub-questions : br _ What do we mean by a crisis or a catastrophe in different br scientific schools ? br _ What do we mean by the awarness process toward’ crises and br catastrophes and how can it be developed ? br What is the suggested conception of the br administration for developing awareness in br catastrophes and crises ? br school br facing br - Importance of The Study : br The importance of the study can be expressed In the br following main points : br School administration has an important role in developing br awarness among students. Hence. the importance of br recognizing that role is vital for these learners. br School administration has an effective role in carrying out br learning and in developing individuals’ abilities. br _ School administration participates in establishing the limited br intellectual bases of its pupils’ character. So. it yields br effective elements for the society and hence, the objective of br the school toward society is achieved. br Objectives of the Study : br _ Recognizing some catastrophes and crises and facing them. br Recognizing pupils’ awarness - dimensions . and its br development. br _ Concluding a suggested conception for the role of school br administration in developing pupils’ awareness. br The researcher depends on the descriptirc curricula to br know the actual state of the Basic stage. second cycle and br .J br ...• br 1I br 5 br to reveal the problems of the school administration in facing br crises and catastrophe. br Limitations of The Study : br 1- Human Limit : Second cycle of elementary education br administrators, headmasters, senior teachers and social br specialists. br 2- Place Limit : Elementary schools, second cycle at Monofia br Governorate. br 3- Time Limit: The duration of carrying out that study. br Tools of The Study : br - Field visits for some elementary schools. br - personal interviews with some educational leaders at Monofia br Governarate. br - A questionnaire for those who are concerned in the school. br The researcher used some statistical styles in analysizing br his field study results. These ones are : Ratio Weight, br Percentage estimation, and K2 br Terms of study :- br The following terms were use :- br 1 - The role br 2- School administmtion br 3- Developing br 4- Awareness br 5- The second stage br 6- Catastrophe br 7- Crises. br 6 br Procedures of the study • br In the light of the research questions, this study proceeds br as follows :- br Chapter one : The general back ground of the study br Chapter two : Present state of Basic Education in EL - br Menufeya Governorate. br Chapter three : Philosephy of crises . br Chapter four : The field study br Chapter five : Asuggested conception for consoliadation of br the Role of school Administration in developing br student’s Awareness Catastrophesand crises . br Results of The Study : br The results of the study can be classified into the following: br (a) Results concerned the Bisic Education and its contributions in developing br awarness among students. br (b) Results concerned the Bisic Education teacher and developing awarness. br (c) Results concerned the administration of the Basic Education school, br second stage. br (d) Results concerned Basic Education curricula. br (e) Results concerned the educational activities and media. br (t) Results concerned the pupil of the Basic Education, second stage.
