SOITVIA S OF THE STUDY
The study pv
The pl;”:,Lipose ohis study was to design a program for developing some conceptsi the curriculum of sociology at the secondary
..age student It is an urgent response of sociologists and
educationalists.
Philosophical sutcts at the general secondary stage are considered from the basic subjects.his is due to their strong relation with the society that surrounds the studensince their field is the society and what is taking
place in it, i.e interactions
in particular, the importance of the
scientific term or concel in any field of knowledge and its various branches is due to the fat that it is a rule of the intellectual movement in this field as well as one )f its most important tools. The problem is not the extent embodied in the terminolov itself, but in its little compactness,
of its comprehensivness, it ’conflicting meanings and the difference in its usage.
Hence, the development of social concepts becomes a must this is required by the actual circumstances of Egypt. from here the idea of this study springs as a new attempt to create a generation aware of his own society and interacting with it successfully.
This study is based on the following
1-Education performs an effective role in developing social concepts in
school.

The problem of the study requires answers to the following questions

Limitation of the study :
The study is limited to

Hypotheses of the study :

Procedures of the study :
1-Review of literature in the field of concepts in various subject matter and in the social and philosophical concepts; in chapter two.
theoretical study of the nature of sociology and its basic concepts as

fields and branches as well as determining the necessary social skills for that stage on which the suggested program was designed; in chapter
three.
3-Chapter four includes the methodology of the study, its tools as well as
the suggested program. The program includes ten units for developing social concepts in sociology including the objectives of the program
and its concepts.
4 Designing an achievemental test. It was validated and its reliability was
fined to evaluate developing the social concepts mentioned in the
mainta units of the program. This was done to evaluate various tive sides.

5- The two units were applied to the sample of the study that involves 219 students [boys and girls].
Results of the study :
1- The study revealed a definite and main concept for each unit of the program’ units [ten units].

2- The results of the study showed that there were no statistical significant
differences between
concepts.
3-The results of the study maintained the effectiveness of the suggested
program for boys and girls in acquiring social concepts in sociology.
4-The first hypothesis was approved. It states that ”there are statistical in the mean of student’s scores in the social and after teaching the two units in favour of the
boys and girls in the preachievement of the
significant differences concepts’ tests before
post test.
5-The results of the study maintained that there were no statistical
significant differences between boys and girls in the pre-social attitudes
level.
6-It was also indicated that the effectiveness of the program was not
shown in acquiring social attitudes by the study sample.
7-The second hypothesis was proved to be invalid. It states that ”there are
statistical significant differences in the mean of the students’ scores in
the social attitudes scale before and after teaching the two units in
favour of the post application.
Recommendations :
In the light of the study results, the following are recommended
1-Employing effective teaching methods for acquiring developing social attitudes by the students, towards society and its problems therefore teachers should be trained during service.
2-Employing various styles of evaluation that do not depend on
traditional ways.
3-Paying attention and interest on the pact of the teachers to plan
discussions through which students are trained to participate effectively in teaching situations to develop their social concepts.

4-An ur.4ent need for re-planning and re-evaluating sociology curriculum
at the secondary stage.
5-The subject content should include definite field studies and effective
purpose full educational activities.
6-Designing specific programs and units to modify social attitudes of secondary school students.
7-Sociology teachers should be trained to prepare instructional materials as well as evaluation tools in the field of social concepts.
8-Training courses should be increased for sociology teachers to increase
their teaching efficiencies.
9-Paying attention to the sociology teachers in the preparation colleges
