Introduction :
The role of kindergarten mistresses is no less, if not more, important than the roles played by other teachers and mistresses in the other various educational stages due to the significance of this stage. This stage usually concerns itself with the various aspects of child’s development.
If a sound professional placement necessitates that an individual should select the profession that suits his/her motifs, attitudes and aptitudes so as to realize sucLcss, the researcher secs the importance of studying the psychological features (mental - non mental) of the kindergarten mistresses; hence the problem of the present study.
Statment of the problem :
The problem of this study is stated as follows :
I- Are there statistically significant correlations between social
intelligence, ability of creative thinking, personality traits, educational attitudes and aspects of professional competence of kindergarten mistresses?
2-Can kindegarten mistresses’ professional sucess be predicted through their social intelligence?
3-Can kindergarten mistresses’ professional success be predicted through their ability of creative thinking?
4-Can kindergarten mistresses’ professional success be predicted through their personality traits (control - responsibility - emotional balance -sociality)?
5-Can kindergerten mistresses’ professional success be predicted through their educational attitudes towards profession?
Procedures :
The study was fulfilled as follows :
-2--
Rivew of related literature as regards :
a)Kindergarten mistresses’ psychological characteristics.
b)Kindergarten mistresses’ roles and competencies.
Procedures of the study :
1-Selecting the sample : The sample compromized fifty (N = 50) specialized mistresses of the kindergartens of Gize Governorate whose ages ranged between 25 to 29 (M = 27).
2-Selecting the tools that included
a)Social intellegence measure of George Washington University.
b)Tests of ability of creatie hinking by A.Abdul Ghaffar.
c)Personality proile measure by L.F. Gordon.
d)Kindergarten mistress’ attitude towards profession measure.
e)Preparing a list of kindergarten nistress’ professional
competence, by the researcher.
Procedures :
The researcher followed the following procedures :
1 Observing the mistresses in the somple of the study through observation cards including the completences of per formance and profession of the mistress so as to get their marks on the list of competences.
2.Appling the other tools used in the study on the mistresses in the somple of the study and who have been observed.
3.After marking the responses of the mistresses on the tools of the study the marks of every dimension of the list of competences have been changed into standard marks becayse of the non-equality of the number of pharses for every dimension as an introduction for analysing these -marks statistically.
-3--
Statistical Techniques :
To reach the results of the study, the resear cher used the following statistical techniques :
- Coffecient Correlations.
2- Multi-upgading technique.
Major findings :
Data revealed the following :
1 There are singificant correlations (at 0.01.. level) between the first dimension of the mistress’ competence (satisfying childrens’ growth needs and its requirements) and social intellegence, fluency, flexibility, orginality ability of creative thinking, emotional balance, sociality, mistress’ standpoint of her profession, mistress’ standpoint of the personality traits of the successful teacher and mistress’ standpoint of the children’s mothers.
Z. There are no significant corelations between the mistress’ competence (statisfying childrens’ growth needs) and control and respondibility.
3.There are Statistically significant positive correlations at (0.01 level) between the mistress, competence” regarding individual differences omong children” and the varibles of (fluency, flexibility, genuinity). The total sum of the contents of creative thinking, emotional balance, sociality, mistress standpoint regarding her profession, mistress standpoint of work with children and mistress, standpoint of the children’s mothers.
