Abstract CONCLUSION 8.0. Conclusion: 8.1. Summary and Findings: Emphasis in the Quran is an obvious linguistic phenomenon which has a direct bearing on the force of the proposition of the sentence or dialogue that is teeming with emphasizers. The emphasis in the Quran is brought about by the addition of grammatical or rhetorical particles of emphasis. The Arabic language is characterized with the fact that it carries such an emphatic force other than the English language system that does not favour such a complex system of emphaticness. This results in great losses when carrying the patterns of emphasis from the SL into the IL. The loss is greatly attributable to the difference in the language systems; however, translators are partly to blame for this. This loss is evinced in the conveyance of the grammatical emphasis rather than the rhetorical emphasis. This is due to the fact there are numerous aspects of similarity between the two languages in the question of rhetoric. Rhetoric is similar in the following aspects: repetition, and parallelism. Though the grammatical particles offocus are not found in English, yet there are devices that can make up for the emphatic touch added to the meaning of the Arabic sentence. The grammatical particles of emphasis are mainly concerned with the sentence level, in other words, they add force only to the sentence level whereas the rhetorical devices produce an impact at the levels of the sentence and the context. This proves the link between the emphasis and context at the sentence level as well as the discoursal level. The interrelation between emphasis and context is proved to be authentic through the systemic model of Berry and Tsui. A taxonomy is devised to analyze the inviter/invitee dialogue along the Coulthard’s model of teacher/pupil, and doctor/patient dialogue. The model initiated for the prophet’s dialogue with his people is.usually marked with an Invitation move on the part of the prophet and a Rejection move on the part of the |
