Abstract
This research is carried out to determine the different properties of decomposed quarries surface materials and to evaluate their effect on theeng ineering properties of hot road tar mixtures the study covers a review of the available relevant literature experimental work is conducted to determine the different properties of the quarries surface materials the minerological and chemical composition specific gravity water absorption stripping resistance crushing strength as well as blends of coarse basaltic aggregates containing different percentages of these materials have been evaluated the effect of the quarries surface materials on theengineeringproperties of hot road tar mixtures is studied as well as the effect of their addition on the optimum tar content and on the chance in aggregate gradation.
