Abstract
The ain of this thesis is to provide a new exact method of analysis for open-phase conditions where by the pew e of relay protectioN systems is investigated so as to verify the measures necessary to secure relay ble application of these conditions the analytical method obtained is applied to a 500 kv transmission liw similar to the high dam-cairo 590 kv transmission liw in one of its.
Stages of development the problem is solved by digital computer and the developed program can be applied to any other transmission system spcial attention is paid to both earth fault current protection and distance protection where definite recom wndations are given.
