Abstract

Conclusion
In this study, an attempt has been made to analyze a selected
.ple of abstract nouns and their root-cognates as they occur in the Holy
;’an. The study also aims at shedding light on the translation strategies
the problems of meaning loss, equivalence, acceptability and
municativeness. An equal weight has been given to the long-held
ws of the impermissibility and the untranslatability of the meanings of
Holy Qur’an into foreign languages with specific reference to the
ws of some Muslim scholars as Ibn Qudama, Abu I;Ianifa, Sheikh
The first point raised in discussion is the untranslatability and the
permissibility of the meanings of the Holy Qur’an. A very important
.ng that has to be noticed is that the word untranslatability here does not
an impossibility of translating it. It only means that there are linguistic
.d stylistic features that are exclusive for the Holy Qur’an and the
abic language that can not be communicatedthrough translation.
It has been found that although some Muslim scholars almost
ohibited translating the meanings of the Holy Qur’an, others
couraged the translation for the spread ofIslam. Yet, they permitted
slation on one condition that is considering the out-put of the
.anslation’ as an interpretation for the meanings of the Holy Qur’ an and
ota translation for the original text to make sure that any translation for
e Holy Qur’an will never be a substitute for the original.
