Abstract

This study was aimed to Analyze human needs among nurses working in different health care settings at Assiut city. and to compare gradation of human needs among the study groups. the study sample consisted of (300) staff nurses and 60 head nurses. Data collected through personal interview by using the demographic data sheet and need satisfaction scale. Results revealed that gradation of human needs was social, self esteem, security, self actualization, and autonomy for the total sample, the present study also declared that there’s significant difference between head nurses and staff nurses regarding the autonomy and self actualization needs in the three selected hospitals. It was recommended that building a system of promotion for nurses, provide a child-care service for nursing staff children (nursery school) and Further studies needed to be carried out to clarify the effect of motivation on job satisfaction and job stress.
