Abstract A study to investigate the effect of elasticity of fluid on velocity and temp. fields between 2 walls. The problem is formulated in a non dimentional form subject to certain boundary conditions. Velocity field is discussed and characteristics of flow as skin friction at 2 walls or any layer between the walls is examined. Temp. field is considered for periodic motion of the upper wall. amplitude of skin friction fluctuation at moving wall increases while that at the stationary wall decreases with Increasing elastic parameter K. Skin-friction at the moving wall has a phase lag which increases with increasing K. The 1st harmoric heat transfer decreases with increasing prandtl number P and decreases for small w and then increases as K. wall temp. decreases an P increase. |
