Abstract The status of rhytidectomy from the first attempt published around 1900 to the present techniques of total, sectional, and segmental correction is in a constant state of evolution and is directly related to a continually refined understanding of the anatomical and pathologic details of facial aging. Surgery cannot simply reverse all of the effects of aging . However, tissue can be repositioned and volume redistributed to recreate a more youthful appearance. The goal of the face- lift operation is to rejuvenate the face to the limits of each age without giving the patient the illusion of having the image of young person through more aggressive procedure. The goal of rejuvenation procedures of the face is to leave a natural and harmonious look with minimal evidence of surgical intervention |
