Abstract

The present study was carried out to estimate nitrogen and potassium requirements of Crimson seedless grapevine variety and to evaluate N-use efficiency of Crimson seedless compared with Superior and Thompson seedless.
To achieve this goal, two experiments were conducted, the first experimental was carried out during two successive seasons (2004 and 2005) on Crimson Seedless. The vines were two years old and grown in a sandy loam soil under drip irrigation system. This investigation was initiated to evaluate the effects of amount of nitrogen and potassium combined in different ratios on Crimson Seedless grapevines in the newly cultivated areas in order to develop the optimal amount required to assure optimum growth and maximum productivity with high fruit quality with high fruit quality. The result cleared that, Crimson Seedless required NK fertilization at 1: 4.5 or 1: 5 on the basis of 20 kg N / fed to improve vine growth and producing high yield with better fruit quality.
