Abstract The aim of the present study is to examine the possibility of developing quick and reliable methods for predicting the nutritive value of these feedstuffs with a reasonable degree of accuracy. The following procedure is adopted: collection of different roughage and concentrate samples commonly used in feeding ruminants in Egypt, CF contents are fractionated for their NDF; ADF and ADL their IVDMD and ISDMD are determined at different incubation periods mainly 4,8, 24 and 48 hours, and the digestion coefficients and nutritive values of these samples are obtained from the data published in Egyptian literature. Data of experiments performed are recorded and anlysed in details. These correlations are calculated to determine the strength of the relationship between them, then examining the limits of their use in practical application. |
