Abstract This work aims to investigate the response of three different strains of honeybee workers to insecticides commonly used for pest control in egypt. Laboratory and field experiments are carried out to study the sensitivity of different races of honeybee workers to different insecticides. The italian, carniolan and egyptian races are chosen for such purpose. Insecticides used are: endrin, dipterex, sevin and nuvacron. The obtained results may help in planning programmes for pest control with sufficient security to foraging honeybees and thus reaching the maximal seed and fruit production from plants and the greatest honey yields from bees . |
