Abstract Biochemical and bislogical studies on some leaf protein are carried out. The objectives of this study are, extraction of the protein from leaves and the bislogical evaluation of the isolated protein from leaves by net protein utilization (N.P.U), protein efficiency ratio (P.E.R). Suitable method for the extraction of native proteins from the green leaves of sweet potato and turinip green plants is selected. Flie biological evaluation of the extracted leaf proteins through the determnation of their net protein utilization (N.P.U), protein efficincy ratio (P.E.R) and net protein ratio (N.P.R) is studied ile plants used in this work are turnip green and sweet potats leaves which still do not find their way in any ccotiomical applications. |
