Abstract

The nile river bank, as one of the most important natural resources in egypt is a particular case representing man mis-management of the land/ water zone. with regard to context accommodating his needs for open spaces that would allow him to parctice his passive and active forms of activities.
In order that man can persue his activities certain management of nature characteristics is needed which is expressed in the design of this land/water zone that would identify the particular sites for the particular activities in space/time. consequently, it is essential to provide means that would help man to properly manage such resource.
The main purpose of this thesis is therefore to provide a flexible design guide for land/ water scape that would relate to the particular physical charactrtistics of its constituent parts and types of use and activities expected to take place, taking into consideration the opportunity of mixing activities in space/ time. Although a design guide for zone where land/water intergrate depends largely on the designers initiative and talent. while this is acceptable to certain extant, it would be much easier to use a design guide that will help designers in dealing with such zones.
