Abstract This Study Is Undertaken To Investigate The Population Development Of M. Javanica And R. Reniformis When Both Nematodes Coinhabited Cowpea Roots, And To Picture, Histologically, The Effect Of Their Infection Upon Cowpea Root And Nodular Tissues. The Duration Of The Life Cycle, From Egg To Egg, Of Both Nematodes Is Almost Equal. Penetration By Both Nematodes Increases With Time And With Increasing Levels Of Inocula. When Both Nematode Inocula (As Egg-Mass) Are Simultaneously Added, M. Javanica Infection Stage Has The Priority Over That Of R. Reniformis For Invading The Roots. The Latter Nematode Is Capable Of Attacking The Former Nematode Galls. Prior Infection With R. Reniformis Indirectly And Significantly Reduces The Population Of M. Javanica In Roots Coinhabited With Both. |
