Abstract The complexity and importance of cables production make the cost of finding, Fixing and retesting cables very high. It is crucial for a company to find ways to prevent fault from being introduced in cables in first place. Continuous defects reduction is a high engineering priority. The aim of this these is to study the different methods of cause analysis and use one of these methods to help in reaching a technique that is more reliable. In this thesis an analysis methodologies is introduced, to prevent the most frequent faults. Pareto technique list the most freqent errors made during cable production. It also provides us with information that helpes in reducing the risk of cables faults . Using pareto techniqu automatically generated explanations for vital defects, identifying causes that are responsile for their occurrence, using explanation produced by pareto analysis. It enables to understand and minmize vital cable defects including sheath, insulation defects and stranding. Using t-test revealed significant differences between the results obtained from applying the company system and from applying Pareto-obtained from applying the company system and that from applying Paretotechnique. |
